According to Rovio’s CEO, Mikael Hed, the popular Angry Birds mobile game has been downloaded 42 million times across multiple mobile platforms including the iPhone, Symbian, and Android. There were 12 million paid downloads (presumably on iOS) and 30 million ad-supported downloads. Hed said his company makes more than $1 million per month from advertising alone through its free Android app, and that Rovio chose to make the app free due to pricing inconsistencies on the international Android Market.
