日前，诺基亚宣布采用Qt作为Symbian和MeeGo操作系统的唯一应用程序开发框架。

据了解，诺基亚还抛弃了原来用于更新Symbian系统（比如说Symbian^3 或Symbian^4）的模式，推行所谓的“可持续进化模式”。

这就意味着，Symbain操作系统今后的升级必须在Qt框架内进行，并与现有的Symbian^3平台兼容。

与此同时，诺基亚还承认它打算支持基于HTML5的网页内容和应用，在Symbian和MeeGo平台上运行。

诺基亚首席技术官Rich Green表示，“我们正在制定的战略性技术决策，有助于我们为开发商提供最大机遇，为用户创造最丰富的移动体验。开发商将由此扩大应用软件的用户基础，而用户也将通过诺基亚产品，接触到市场上最好的应用软件……相信这不但能使开发商从中受惠，诺基亚自己也不例外。”（本文为游戏邦/gamerboom.com编译）

Nokia to use Qt for apps across Symbian and MeeGo

Nokia says it’s taking steps to simplify the app development process for its handsets by focusing on Qt as the sole framework across Symbian and MeeGo.

The company is also abandoning its release-based model for updating Symbian (i.e. Symbian^3 or Symbian^4) in favour of what it calls a ‘model for continuous evolution’.

This means that future upgrades in Symbian will be developed in Qt and will be compatible with the existing Symbian^3 platform release.

In the same breath, Nokia confirmed it intends to support HTML 5 for web content and apps across Symbian and MeeGo.

Rich Green, CTO of Nokia, said: “We’re making strategic technology decisions that will accelerate our ability to offer the strongest possible opportunity for developers and the richest possible experience for consumers.

“For developers, it will open up a huge installed customer base for their applications.  For consumers, it means a more compelling engagement with their Nokia product in terms of access to the best applications in the marketplace and a constantly improving product experience.
