日前，号称全球最大的独立应用商店GetJar宣布任命前EA Mobile高管贝伦尼斯·卡兰（Berenice Kalan）为该公司英国市场营销总监。

据了解，这是继今年10月聘用前微软高管詹姆斯·穆尼（James Mooney）之后，GetJar的第二次重要人事任命决定。卡兰将负责与当地开发商建立合作关系，巩固GetJar在该市场的战略地位。

今年7月，GetJar的每日应用下载量达300万次，超过诺基亚Ovi Store斩获的170万次的每日下载量。尽管如此，卡兰仍需大力推进GetJar的市场营销活动，为该应用商店争取更多的英国客户。

Fostering relationships with developers top priority 

GetJar, which trumpets itself as the world’s most popular independent app store, has hired former EA Mobile executive Berenice Kalan as its new director of marketing in the UK.

Kalan, whose appointment follows that of Microsoft’s James Mooney earlier in October, will be charged with building relationships with developers, helping the free marketplace reach out to more studios as it looks to cement its place in the market.

Moving the marketplace on

Back in July, GetJar was enjoying a daily download rate of 3 million, putting it comfortably ahead of the 1.7 million downloads a day the Ovi Store was amassing.

Nonetheless Kalan will also be charged with tackling marketing campaigns for the app store to pick up yet more UK based consumers accordingly.
