New Tegra Zone App On Android Market To Access Optimized Mobile Games

Nvidia announced today that the Tegra Zone app is now live on the Android Market, providing a one-stop destination for consumers seeking the richest games for their super phone or tablet powered by the Nvidia Tegra 2 mobile super chip. The Tegra 2 offers more 3D graphics horsepower (including Nvidia PhysX support), hardware acceleration, and 1080p decoding than the default chips used currently.

The free app delivers a selection of Tegra processor-optimized games, as well as professional game reviews, high-resolution screenshots, HD video trailers, gameplay videos and behind-the-scenes featurettes. Sale and delivery of users’ selected games are completed using the standard mechanism of Google’s Android Market.

Games that show up on the Tegra Zone app are claimed to be especially enhanced for the Nvidia Tegra 2 super chip-powered devices, more realistic and interactive.  Among those selected as launch titles are Dungeon Defenders: First Wave Deluxe HD, the first game available for Android that is built on Unreal Engine 3; Samurai II: Vengeance; Galaxy on Fire 2 THD; Backbreaker THD; Vendetta Online; and Monster Madness.

It is built with a mobile dual-core CPU – which offers up to two-times faster browsing and support for full Adobe Flash Player hardware GPU acceleration, plus unprecedented multitasking capabilities.
