美国手机社交游戏开发商Pocket Gems日前宣布，公司旗下的《Tap Zoo》、《Tap Farm》、《Tap Store》、《Tap Jungle》和《Tap Zoo Christmas》这五款iOS游戏下载量已经突破1800万次，在上一个月的营收已经超过100万美元。

据游戏邦了解，这五款免费模式游戏主要通过虚拟道具交易等内置付费功能创收。Pocket Gems的游戏在12月新增了250万的安装下次数，与此同时还通过Sequoia Capital等公司融资500万美元，并计划将部分资金用于扩大团队规模，今年再招聘40名以上的员工。

Social mobile games firm Pocket Gems posts first multi-million dollar month

Tap Zoo and other titles have been downloaded 18 million times for iOS, with VC funding set to boost company’s expansion

US mobile social games developer Pocket Gems has announced that it posted its first multi-million dollar month from its five iOS games.

The freemium titles – Tap Zoo, Tap Farm, Tap Store, Tap Jungle and Tap Zoo Christmas – have been downloaded nearly 18 million times, and make their money from sales of virtual items via in-app purchase.

The company added 2.5 million new installs in December. During that month, Pocket Gems also secured a $5 million investment round led by Sequoia Capital.

It’s now planning to spend part of that cash on hiring more than 40 extra staff this year to grow its business.

“By expanding our engineering and art teams, we will be able to accelerate our time to market while continuing to develop titles that are more engaging for customers and raise the bar on production values,” says CEO Daniel Terry.（source:mobile-ent）
