在付费下载应用的ipad用户当中，游戏的下载率最高，达到62%，书刊紧随其后，有54%的下载率，音乐类应用排名第三，有50%的下载率。

在与iphone的比较方面，ipad在书刊、影视、杂志阅读方面领先于iphone。但是在新闻和音乐等方面逊色于iphone。

It’s an almost unbelievable figure, but 32% of all iPad owners haven’t even downloaded a single app, according to figures published by Nielsen Company. Just what do they do on the iPad, then?

But a large majority (63%) of iPad owners have at least bought an app. Games, books and music rank as the most popular app categories respectively.

The Nielsen research also pit the iPad over its smaller cousin the iPhone, finding that while people prefer books, TV shows, movies and magazines on the former, the iPhone is used more often for reading the news or listening to music.

The report also pointed to a crucial little fact: that 4% of all US households now own tablet computers; and Nielsen is expecting sales of these devices to hold steady in an “otherwise lackluster holiday shopping season”, it said. （source：design taxi）
