1,DayZ creator Dean Hall will leave Bohemia Interactive and his hit game behind this year, and instead start his own studio in New Zealand.

“I would extend my involvement here as long as Bohemia wanted – needed – me,” he told Eurogamer.

“Originally I wasn’t going to do this year, but it would be stupid not to, and it would be unfair to the community. I have to be on the project as long as it’s important to. Whether that role is as the leader, whether that role is in a more creative sense… But at a certain point there will be diminishing returns.”

He added that despite his departure he would always have some involvement with DayZ, but is already focused on his new studio with three game ideas in mind and a passion for the multiplayer experience.

“I guess most people would have not said anything,” he said of the departure.

“But I want to avoid a Notch-like situation so that everybody knows that one day – publishers as well – I’m going to come knocking. But it’s not going to be under traditional terms, it’s going to be different.”

Bohemia Interactive has so far declined to comment on Hall’s plans.(source:gamesindustry.biz

2,Former CCP design director Craig Scott has joined Bigpoint as lead designer.

Scott started in the games industry in 2001 as a designer at the now defunct Climax Studios. After a year as a senior designer at Core Design he joined Realtime Worlds in 2005, where he stayed for just over four years.

He was hired by CCP as a lead designer in 2010, but by the end of 2011 he had been promoted to design director for the entire EVE Online team.

“I am happy to be with Bigpoint now,” Scott said in a statement. “Bigpoint has major experience in the future sector of free-to-play, online games. Furthermore, I expect to have much space for trying new things, which is a premise for making really innovative games and which, of course, means a lot of fun for both the teams and the users. That’s what I see Bigpoint is currently about.”

Bigpoint CEO Khaled Helioui confirmed that Scott has been brought into the company to work on, “a new breed of MMO.”(source:gamesindustry.biz

3,Mobile and social games company Game Insight has announced its latest hidden object game for mobile devices, Incredible Heist. The game is currently in development for iPad, and takes players to a world filled with conmen, grifters and jewel thieves. Gamers will search through hidden treasure piles, open locks and solve puzzles while creating their own team of hustlers.

In Incredible Heist, players start as an amateur con man, asked to help his mentor steal priceless treasures in a trip around the world. While the game is a hidden object game at its core, players will also be challenged with completing mini-games as they become a top thief.(source:insidemobileapps.com

4,Madfinger Games has announced the launch of its popular mobile title Dead Trigger 2 on the Facebook platform. The first-person-shooter experience challenges players to survive the apocalypse, defeating zombies across 600 missions and 27 environments.

In each level, players are in control of their character’s movement and weapon’s aim, but firing guns or swinging melee weapons happens automatically. Players earn money and other bonuses for killing enemies, especially with headshots, and will collect survivors for their hideout as they progress through the game’s story.

Each mission has a different goal, with some seeing players defending small locations until a timer can tick down and the level can progress. In these instances, players can typically protect their environment with barricades, but they must turn their back on potential enemies as they’re built.(source:insidesocialgames.com
