1,Southeast Asia’s mobile gaming revenues could exceed $7 billion by 2019, according to market researcher Frost & Sullivan.

The analysis from the company shows that Southeast Asia revenues hit $1 billion in 2014, and it will grow at a compound annual growth rate of 48 percent from 2015 to 2019. That means the region — home to more than 600 million people — will grow much faster than other mature regions in the world.

Singapore and Malaysia are seeing fast growth, helping to make the region the fastest growing in the world, driven by a rapid increase in new broadband users and first-time smart-device users. Social media usage growth is also helping the region grow its gaming base. But the least-developed markets such as Laos, Cambodia, and Myanmar are still in the nascent growth phase.(source:venturebeat.com

2,iWin said today it has agreed to acquire Jenkat Games, a free PC downloadable casual game website.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Jenkat Games Arcade has been installed more than 10 million times, and the site has reached more than 8 million unique users in the past 12 months. The deal shows that acquisitions are still a hot strategy in the games industry. Market advisor Digi-Capital reported that exits in 2014 for game companies exceeded $24 billion.

San Francisco-based iWin itself has now made three acquisitions in the past two years. iWin started out in PC downloadable games distribution and monetization, and it has since expanded into HTML5 games, which can run on any device that has an HTML5-compatible web browser. iWin’s HTML5 catalog now has more than 250 games.(source:venturebeat.com
