1,KISS乐队“登陆”社交游戏Nightclub City——本周六,重摇滚乐队KISS“登陆”Booyah公司发售的一款Facebook游戏Nightclub City。游戏中KISS乐队上演了一场现场演唱会,这作为该乐队2010巡回表演的结束表演的一个环节。参加这一盛会的Nightclub City游戏玩家都可以获得KISS乐队虚拟礼物:乐队成员的虚拟头像和夜总会。

2,RockYou开发的营销程序Deal of the Day将为Facebook发展铺路——本周初,RockYou宣布将通过Deal of the Day服务与多家游戏开发公司合作。通过这一服务,社交游戏玩家无需提供电子邮箱地址、电话号码或信用卡信息便可以赚取游戏虚拟货币。此外,Deal of the Day用户还可以通过观看15-30秒视频广告、完成问卷调查,玩迷你游戏等方式与自己喜欢的品牌新密接触。

KISS Coming to Nightclub City — This Saturday, hard rock band KISS will be coming to Booyah’s Facebook title, Nightclub City, to perform a live streaming concert as part of the final show from their 2010 tour. Players that take part in the event will receive KISS virtual goods for both their avatar and nightclub.

RockYou Powers Deal of the Day for Facebook Devs — Earlier this week, RockYou announced that they’ve been working with many game developers to integrate the Deal of the Day service. These offers allow players of social games to earn virtual currency without giving email addresses, phone numbers, or credit card information. Deal of the Day users will be able to engage with brands by watching 15-30 second videos, completing short polls, or playing mini-games.

Disney Internet Chief Resigns — The New York Times is reporting the resignation of Disney’s president of the Disney Interactive Media Group, Steve Wadsworth. One of the potential candidates to take his place is chief executive of Disney’s recent acquisition target Playdom, John Pleasants.

Cinderella CastleDisney Comes to Social City — In other Playdom-related news, Disney has finally made an appearance in the popular Social City Facebook title. Players will now be able to collect various Disney themed gifts and items, with those that collect all eight receiving a Cinderella Castle.

Enteraction Launches GameShaper — The social gaming branch of Europe-based Etv media group, Enteraction, has launched a new platform called GameShaper. With it, brands, broadcasters, and rights holders will be able to make better use of the growing social games space by offering “significantly” reduced time to market, cost, and risk.

THQTHQ Partners with Joyent – A report from Forbes notes that long-time console developer, THQ, is teaming up with cloud-computing service, Joyent. The latter will power coming social games from the company.

RightScale Raises $25 Million – This past week, cloud management software provider, RightScale, has raised $25 million in a third round of funding, says VentureBeat. Providing a means to host and store online games, RightScale’s customers include social developers Zynga and Playfish.

How much data do these companies use? Zynga noted at the Oracle OpenWorld 2010 conference, this week, that the company uses around one petabyte of data for its social games, and has interacted with about 10 percent (roughly) of the world’s Internet population.

RekooRekoo Uses Cell Phone Address Books to Spread Social Games — Chinese social developer Rekoo has found a creative way to virally spread its social games through mobile phones, reported in English by Asiajin. Partnering with Japanese mobile provider, KDDI, players will be able to invite other KDDI subscribers to play social games directly through their phone’s address book.(Source:Inside Social Games)
