据inside social games网站的消息，因为人员扩张，zynga租赁了可容纳2000人的新办公场所汤森中心（Townsend Center）。

根据旧金山纪事报的描述该办公场所足足有27万平方英尺。该栋建筑曾容纳过超过2000名员工共同办公。

汤森中心并不是第一次有游戏行业的公司入驻，早在上个世纪90年代后期，日本游戏巨头北美公司SEGA就曾经在这里办公，那时候的规模在数百人，后来还增加了刺猬索尼克的制作团队。

zynga的员工总数在2010年初突破了1000名，目前据称已经有1200名左右，但是分布在全球各个办公室。毫无疑问，zynga的团队目前仍存在相对稳定的扩张中。

除了容纳更多的员工，分析还称租下汤森中心还将使zynga获得体面的声誉。

Zynga appears to have finally outgrown the office space available around its original headquarters, in San Francisco’s Potrero Hill neighborhood. The company has just signed a lease for 270,000 square feet in a huge office building over half a mile away, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

It’s not clear yet whether Zynga plans to move its entire operation to the new building, called the Townsend Center, but the Chronicle notes that there is room for more than 2,000 workers. Zynga passed 1,000 earlier this year, and is likely around 1,200 now, split among several buildings.

The Townsend Center isn’t new to the gaming industry. Sega moved into the building in the late 1990s, hiring hundreds of employees; later it added a team for its Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. The company appears to have mostly moved on by 2008, though.

Aside from providing more space for what Zynga clearly believes will be a steadily growing number of employees, the Townsend Center may also give the company an added aura of corporate respectability, especially once it completes what the Chronicle says will be a significant redesign.
