据了解，GameCenter在iOS 4.1 beta版的操作系统上出现的的存储残片问题已经众所皆知，因此它只能与iPhone 4、iPhone 3GS以及第三代iPod Touch平台兼容。相关评论认为，iPhone 2G、iPhone 3G以及第一代iPod Touch因性能问题而与GameCenter失之交臂；另外，第二代iPod Touch的性能足以应对GameCenter的先天不足，不会影响用户的应用体验，所以第二代iPod Touch用户还是幸运地搭上了GameCenter的末班车。

With Game Center set to make its debut later today, Apple has revealed the final line up of iOS devices set to benefit from the games network.

The fact that not all the handsets have made the grade will surprise no-one, given Apple revealed back in August that the platform would not be universal.

However, news that second generation iPod touches will benefit from Game Center has raised eyebrows, given the fairly similarly powered iPhone 3G has failed to make the leap.

Game Center’s fragmentation was made public via the iOS 4.1 beta four months after Apple had first lifted the lid on the games network.

At the time, only iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and third generation iPod touch devices were included, with both iPhone 3G and the 2nd iPod touch left out in the cold due to what commentators suggested were performance issues.

Nonetheless, any early problems with Game Center on second generation iPod touch devices appears to have been ironed out, leaving only owners of original iPod touch, iPhone 2G and iPhone 3G handsets missing out when iOS 4.1 hits iTunes later today.（source：PocketGamer）
