分享制作优秀游戏设计文稿的5点建议

游戏设计文稿(GDD)是覆盖所有游戏要素的文件。电子游戏通常都有设计文稿。所以若你想要制作优秀作品,不妨遵照如下5点建议制定GDD。

1. 使用模版:游戏设计文稿有很多模版(游戏邦注:通过谷歌搜索就能获悉)。

好模版要包含游戏基本概念以外的内容,令设计师不断思考游戏内容,进而在随后的开发过程中省下大把时间。虽然这也许不是简单游戏的最佳模版。

2. 比较:着手制定游戏设计文稿后,不妨将自己的内容同其他游戏设计文稿进行比较。

不妨参考其他设计文稿,若你不确定某版块的作用,就借鉴他人的文稿,这样你就能很快找准方向。

3. 分块完成:我知道把握整个模块的内容有些令人望而生畏,这也是建议大家分块进行的原因所在。虽然你完全可以一次性完成所有内容,但不建议这么做。

下载好模块后,先试着填入游戏的主要要素。如故事、综述和玩法等。只要完成所有基本要素,其余GDD内容也会相继诞生。

4. 细节:将所有游戏细节内容放入GDD。记住GDD是游戏的参照文稿。所以当团队成员想要设计某特定功能时,他们都会查看GDD。

若他们从中没有找到自己想要的元素,他们就得以自己眼中的最佳方式进行操作。而这通常超出你的预期构想。

5. 修改:最重要的是修改GDD。现在试着将GDD想像成一个生命力。它会随时间的流逝而成长和改变。多余内容将被新构思取代,GDD内容会出现增减。

别担心,这是件好事。游戏开发过程总是会不断带来变化(游戏邦注:或由于技术原因,或由于此功能未能同剩余游戏内容联系起来)。

Top 5 Tips on Making a Game Design Document

A Game Design Document is a document that has anything and everything that is going to be in a game.  Practically every video game has one.  So if you want to make the next greatest game of the decade then follow our top 5 tips to make a GDD.

1. Use a Template: Yeah use a template, there are several game design document templates floating around out there (you should find some from a quick google search).  One that I would like to point out is this one.

The reason that this specific one is a good template is that it goes beyond just the basic ideas of your game.  It has categories that will really make you think about your game, and it will save you plenty of time later in development.  Although it may not be the best template for a simple game.

2. Compare: Once you’ve started working on your game design document (or even before you start), it’s a good idea to compare what you have to other game design documents.  Here is a good GDD to compare yours to.

So check out some examples and if you really don’t know what a section is for then look at someone else’s, and you’ll be on the right track in no time.

3. Do it in Pieces: I know looking at the template above can be a little discouraging, but that’s why you should do it in pieces.  Although you can do the entire thing at one time, it isn’t recommended.

When you first download the template just try to fill out the main components of your game.  Like the story, overview, gameplay, etc.  Once you get the basics down and started, the rest of the GDD should come into place.

4. Details: Put every detail of the game into the GDD.  Remember the GDD is the reference document for your game.  So every time a team member goes to look for a specific way to do something or a specific feature, they will look at the GDD.

If what they’re looking for isn’t there, then they may just have to do what they think would be best.  Which in turn may not be what you envisioned for the game.

5. Revise: The most important, revising your GDD.  Now try to think of your GDD as a living organism.  Over time it will grow and change.  The unneeded parts will be replaced with new ideas, and sections may be added or deleted.

Don’t worry this is a good thing.  As you develop your game there are going to be changes along the way.  Either because of technical reasons or you just find out that the feature doesn’t really relate to the rest of the game.

If you are working with a team try to keep them up to date with the GDD.  And make sure to give them new releases of the GDD frequently.  As you don’t want time wasted on an unneeded feature that could have been used for something useful for the game. (Source:gamenacho
