据gamespy网站的消息，GameStop旗下的社交游戏平台Kongregate入选了time时代2010年度50佳网站。

GameStop于7月27日透露收购Kongregate的消息，并于8月1日左右完成本次交易。交易的金额并没有对外公布，但是基于google和迪士尼并购社交游戏公司的大手笔，预计GameStop收购Kongregate数目也不少。

GameStop’s recent acquisition of online social gaming platform Kongregate looks like a brilliant business move today. Time Magazine announced this morning that Kongregate is among its 50 best web sites of 2010.

GameStop announced its plan to purchase San Francisco-based Kongregate on July 27 and the deal quickly closed on August 1. Financial terms were not disclosed, but with companies like Google and Disney shelling out hundreds of millions for Kongregate’s social gaming competitors, it’s clear GameStop made a massive investment.

“This is the second year we’ve been recognized by the editors of Time.com,” said Kongregate co-founder Emily Greer. “We share this great honor with the millions of passionate gamers and developers who have helped us create a special and unique gaming community dedicated to delivering innovation and online fun.”

Kongregate was one of five game sites recognized by Time, including Cactus Squid, Pogo, Newgrounds, and Games.com. The magazine’s editors were impressed by the Kongregate’s breadth of online games and its Android-based mobile application that delivers more than 150 mini-games to smartphones.

According to Kongregate, more than 10 million monthly players visit the site, spending a combined 23 million hours gaming.（source：gamespy）
