Facebook Requests 2.0 — What You Need To Know

Engaging users is probably one of the most important aspects of social gaming development — even though a lot of us tend to forget. Facebook helps developers with this aspect of social gaming by giving developers the option to use ‘requests’. User-generated requests – User-generated requests are self-explanatory to say the least. These types of requests are triggered by the user’s action. In return, a bookmark will be added to the recipient’s dashboard. When a user receives a request, his or her bookmark count will go up — these bookmarks will be added up overtime for the user.

App-generated requests – Developers send these requests through the Graph API — they are not initiated by the user. Developers can use these to cleverly lure users back to the application.
