社交网站Twitter用户访问频率降低,访问时间加长

据Experian最新报告显示,社交网站Twitter的每用户访问时长创历史新高,与之相反网站的访问数量却呈下降趋势。从表面上看,这一现象意味着每位Twitter用户每次登录平均投入了更长时间,而不是耗时短的频繁登录。

Experian数据显示,2010年11月每月至少访问一次Twitter的美国成人用户数量比去年同期下降了14%:2009年11月登录Twitter.com的成人用户数量为954万,而2010年11月则下降至825万。

然而据游戏邦了解,社交网站Twitter的现状并没有看上去那么糟,其月活跃用户数量下降可能是由于更多用户通过Twitter客户端登录该网站,因此以上数据可能并不全面。本周初,Twitter首席执行官Dick Costello宣布该网站中40%的消息由手机用户发布,这一数据同比一年前增长了25%。

另外该报告还显示,2010年11月Twitter.com的访问次数同比2009年11月增加37%:2010年11月的每月平均访问次数为10次,而2009年11月则是7.3次。据游戏邦了解,Twitter.com的用户访问投入时长增加可能与该网站2010年9月发布新主页有一定关系。

Experian has released a new report that shows that active users are spending more time on Twitter than ever before. However, the number of overall visits to has decreased. This basically means that each user spends more time on Twitter per visit, instead of visiting it more often but for a shorter duration of time.

According to Experian, the number of US adults visiting Twitter at least once a month have gone down by 14 percent in November 2010, compared with November 2009. 8.25 million adults visited Twitter.com at least once during a month, down from 9.54 million adults who visited the site once a month back in November 2009.

Although troubling as it may look, these statistics dont show the complete picture, as it is still possible that this decrease in visitors may be a result of more people using Twitter via Twitter clients.  Dick Costello, CEO of Twitter, eluded to this fact when he revealed earlier this month that 40% of all tweets on Twitter come from a mobile device, up from 25% a year ago.

The report states that Twitter.com visits have increased by 37 percent in November 2010, compared with November 2009. Twitter.com visits reached an average of 10.0 visits per month in November 2010, up from 7.3 visits per in the same month last year. The increase in time-spent on the site per visit might have a direct correlation with Twitter’s release of its new home page, that was rolled out in September 2010.

In all, US users spent 2 hours and 12 minutes on Twitter.com each month in November 2010, which translates to an increase of 19% from November 2009.(Source:socialtimes)
