Spotted by cnet, this new in-search gaming functionality appear to be working only for one title as of today: CrowdStar’s Happy Island.

Do a Bing search for Happy Island, and you’ll be presented with a playable version of the game as the first result.

Users can play several levels of Happy Island right within the Bing search results. They will eventually be asked to log in to the game using their Facebook information.

cnet points out that the close relationship between Microsoft and CrowdStar indicates that it is likely more games from this publisher will be available in Bing search results in the near future. And since Microsoft recently announced at the Bing Search Summit that there are over 400 new “visual” search initiatives in the works, there is the possibility that this functionality will be extended to other flash and social game developers eventually.
