任天堂会对苹果iPhone和索爱手机平台有所忌惮吗？任天堂英国分社总裁大卫·亚顿（David Yarnton）表示否认这一说法。

亚顿对苹果平台和Android等其他移动游戏平台开发商在领域所获的经济回报表示怀疑，当问到这些平台是否对任天堂构成威胁时，他答道，“我们之间的区别好比是橙子和苹果”。

Nintendo Dismisses Mobile Gaming Threat

Nintendo isn’t worried about mobile gaming combating their line of DS models.

Do Apple’s iPhones and Sony’s Ericssons worry Nintendo?  Not one bit, according to Nintendo UK’s chief David Yarnton.

Yarnton questioned fiscal returns for developers on the iDevice market and other game-playing mobiles running operating systems similar to Apple’s, such as Google Android.  When asked about the threat that these platforms pose to Nintendo he said that it was “like comparing oranges and apples.

“The content we provide on our handheld gaming is far in advance of what you can pick up for a five minute, ten minute fix on a mobile phone.

“To some extent, you’ve seen there have been games [on mobiles] for ages and ages. In our industry there’s always been talk about apps and things coming on… I think it’s grown and there’s so many of them, but the actual business model is yet to be proven to some extent.

While Nintendo may say that Apple and other mobile companies are having little impact, boss Iwata has admitted that the firm’s platform business could be “in trouble” if hardware sales do not improve during the holiday season.（source:nowgamer）
