1，Zynga has acquired Superlabs, the incubator that Mark Pincus created after leaving Zynga, for $1.
The acquisition closes the loop for Pincus, who started the incubator after he stepped down as the CEO of Zynga, which he also founded. Now that Pincus has returned to Zynga as its CEO, the incubator is coming with him.
Along with any intellectual property that the incubator owns, Zynga will also have the option to hire its nine employees, according to a government filing published today, and it may offer them as many as 1.13 million shares of restricted Zynga stock (“ZSUs” in the company’s terminology). Zynga is also assuming about $365,000 in liabilities from the company.
It might be a satisfying conclusion for Pincus, but it’s also a substantial tax writeoff: The filing notes that Pincus invested approximately $2.2 million into his incubator since starting it in November 2014.（source：venturebeat.com ）
2，EA Mobile’s games have been downloaded over 715 million times, according to data from the company’s E3 2015 conference.
Taking to the stage in Los Angeles, the company announced that its games boasted players in over 230 countries.
Between them, those players have logged more than 400,000 years of gameplay.
On the rise
They’re impressive stats, and yet another coating of cement on mobile gaming’s growing presence at E3.
The attention mobile received at press conferences like EA and Bethesda – combined with the fact that over 70 mobile games companies are exhibiting at the show – is one of the big markers of this year’s event.
EA itself also lifted the lid three new mobile games, Minions Paradise, Star Wars and EA Sports FIFA.（source：pocketgamer.biz ）
3，Mobile revenue rose 18 per cent in a single year to reach $5.8 billion, console fell 13 per cent
A sharp rise in mobile revenue offset decline in consoles to push the Japanese games industry to a record value in 2014.
According to data released by Famitsu, and sourced by the ever vigilant Dr Serkan Toto, Japanese mobile revenue increased by 18 per cent year-on-year to hit $5.8 billion. To put that in perspective, Famitsu puts the entire global software and hardware market at $54.4 billion. That’s 10 per cent of the whole just from mobile gamers in Japan.
And it’s comfortably more than 50 per cent of the $9.6 billion spent in the Japanese market in 2014, up 4 per cent versus the previous year. Famitsu packages mobile under “online games,” which also includes PC revenue, pushing the total for that segment to $6.4 billion – a 13 per cent year-on-year increase.（source：gamesindustry.biz ）
4，RockYou has added another six games to its swelling portfolio in a deal with Kiwi, an Android mobile developer.
Kiwi raised $15 million in August last year, pushing its lifetime funding to $21 million. The deal with RockYou is for six games: Westbound: Pioneer Adventure, Westbound: Gold Rush, Explorers: Skull Island, Brightwood Adventures, Shipwrecked: Lost Island and Shipwrecked: Volcano Island.
According to Re/code, which discussed the deal with RockYou, all six games are “cash flow positive” with “solid and stable user bases.”
But there must also be some room for improvement. RockYou’s business model is based on acquisition deals like this, but generally for games at a late stage in their lifecycle. It then refines and improves the monetisation potential of each.
That part of the process is the primary reason it acquired the PlayHaven ad network in May, putting its $23 million in funding to good use.（source：gamesindustry.biz ）
5，ara Croft is getting ready for a mobile adventure.
Following the critical success of Hitman Go for iOS and Android, publisher Square Enix is making a new Go game based on the Tomb Raider franchise. Square revealed the game today during its Electronic Entertainment Expo 2015 press conference.
Like Hitman Go, Lara Croft Go is a turn-based puzzler. But instead of assassinating targets, you explore the ruins of an ancient civilization to uncover the myth of someone called the Queen of Venom.
Lara Croft Go is being developed by Crystal Dynamics, the studio behind the latest Tomb Raider games. It will come out later this year.（source：venturebeat.com ）
