社交网站Facebook近日宣布，已有2亿用户通过手机平台使用Facebook功能，这一数据是去年的3倍。

Facebook的Android应用最近推出了更新版本，增加了Facebook Places的登陆功能，在此之前，该功能仅限于iPhone应用和触摸屏手机网站。

因此，Facebook Places手机用户现在如果在某地登陆，也已经可以在资料中添加新的照片。

与此同时，iPhone和Android应用也都增加了Facebook Groups功能，该功能原先只能在Facebook网页上运行，但现在也支持手机用户创建特殊的好友群，共同分享手机内容和最新信息。

Facebook首席执行官马克·扎克伯格（Mark Zuckerberg）表示，Facebook的Android应用之前比iPhone版本落后，但公司现在打算让两者更加“对称”。

不过，黑莓手机的Facebook应用何时才可支持Places和Groups功能，我们暂时不得而知。

另一则重要消息是，Facebook已面向开发商广泛开放针对Facebook Places的编写和搜索API，不再局限于原来的少数合作开发者。这也就意味着，手机用户有望通过更多应用直接登陆Facebook Places，更新自己的状态。

与Google Places API的功能类似，Facebook的搜索API支持开发商为用户提供附近地点的列表。

Facebook’s new Deals feature was the highlight of its press event tonight, but the social network also had other mobile announcements.

They included a big milestone: 200 million people are now using Facebook on their phones – a figure that has tripled in the last year.

The company’s Android application is getting a major update, adding Facebook Places check-ins, which were previously only available in its iPhone app and touchscreen mobile site.

Facebook Places users can now add photos when they check-in from a location too.

Meanwhile, both the iPhone and Android apps are getting Facebook Groups too, a feature that made its debut recently on the Facebook website, allowing people to create specific groups of friends with whom to share content and updates.

CEO Mark Zuckerberg explained at the press event that Facebook’s Android app had been lagging the iPhone version, but that the company now wants the two to have “parity”.

There is no news on when Places and Groups will make their way into the BlackBerry Facebook app, however.

Another piece of important news for app developers was that Facebook is opening its Write and Search API for Facebook Places to all, rather than the limited number of partners who have been using it since launch.

This means more apps will be able to allow their users to check-in to Facebook Places, and update their statuses.

The Search API will also help developers to serve their users with a list of nearby places – performing a similar function to the Google Places API.

Another developer-focused feature is single sign on. When users are logged in to Facebook on their phones, they will be able to automatically login from other apps that support Facebook Connect, without having to retype their passwords.（source:mobile-ent）
