1,Inzen, a Singaporean mobile developer, has raised just shy of $750,000 on the back of an ambitious plan to build its business in China.

The studio was was founded in 2012 by students at the Singapore-MIT Gambit Game Lab, a joint venture between the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of
Technology and the government of Singapore.

The goal of Gambit Game Lab is more academic than commercial, but, according to Techcrunch, Inzen has secured the rights to some of the best ideas produced
at the school in recent years. It plans to launch full versions of those games in 2015, with the difficult but potentially lucrative Chinese market its main
focus.

Indeed, that plan was a cornerstone of Inzen’s new funding drive, which has pushed its lifetime total to $1.485 million SGD ($1.19 million). The round was led by Japan’s Incubate Fund, and featured new investment from China’s Global Mobile Game Confederation (GMGC).

The participation of GMGC is crucial, as it will allow Inzen to navigate the complexities of publishing games in China more easily. The company will move several members of its core team to Beijing this month to help build better elationships.(source:gamesindustry

2,Chillingo has today announced the release of Rescue Quest on iOS devices. Developed by BoomZap Entertainment, the game sees players joining two wizard apprentices, Boom and Zap, on a journey to rescue magic-producing spritelings from an evil sorcerer. The level-based gameplay sees the player’s chosen hero standing on top of the match-three board, walking down a path created by making matches with the gems underneath. In each level of Rescue Quest, players are challenged with navigating a different match-three game board, creating a path from the entrance to a cage of captured spritelings. As players make matches next to their hero, the tiles give way to a path the hero can walk down to get closer to the cage. The game marks an easy path players can take to reach their destination, but users can technically make matches anywhere in the level in order to create and complete the path.

When players make matches of four or more symbols, or those in T or L shapes, they create power-ups capable of clearing whole rows or columns of gems, or all gems of a particular color from the board, as well as those that cause explosions and add large sections of the board to the possible path. While these powers are added to the board automatically, players also receive powers they can manually add to the board when they’re stuck. If they’re lucky enough to receive two powers right next to each other, these can be swapped to increase their effects.(source:insidemobileapps.com

3,Earlier this year, Electronic Arts and PopCap announced the development of Peggle Blast, a free-to-play installment in the popular franchise, which challenges players to shoot balls at pegs to remove them from the screen. The company has now announced an official release date for the title, as Peggle Blast will hit iOS and Android devices on December 2.

We had a chance to chat with Robert Einspruch, senior producer of Peggle Blast, about the game’s development, and the new features users can expect when they try the game next month.

Inside Mobile Apps: Who are the new Peggle Masters, and what sorts of special powers or perks will they offer to players?

Robert Einspruch: We’ll be adding new content for Peggle Blast on a regular basis, but the game launches with six Masters, including two fan favorites, Bjorn and Jimmy.

Bjorn the Unicorn is back, and gives you a Super Shot skill to be incredibly precise with your shots

Jimmy Lightning also returns and gives players an explosive multiball power-up that splits the ball into three, for maximum peg-blasting power

Pearl the Octopus extends her tentacles on the side of the frame to catch and shoot the ball from a different vantage point.

Kablooey the Peacock (otherwise known as Kyle Abernathy Blue the 3rd) explodes blue pegs and everything around them with his feather eruption

Batrina (a bat, of course!) uses her Sonic Shriek to shatter any pegs in her path.

Shelldon the Snail releases slime that slowly rolls down the pegs and drips peg-melting slime on the board.(source:inisde mobileapps
