1,In support of World AIDS Day, Apple has transformed the front page of the iTunes App Store, partnering with a number of developers to highlight (RED)- specific versions of their apps on iOS devices. From now until December 7, 2014, each time a user purchases a (PRODUCT)RED participating app (or in-app content within those apps), 100 percent of the proceeds go to the Global Fund to fight AIDS.

Supported apps range from games like Disney’s Frozen: Free Fall and Supercell’s Clash of Clans, to productivity and education apps including Clear and Toca Town, among others. In the case of some developers, hefty new content updates have been released specifically to coincide with this event.

Zynga and NaturalMotion, for instance, in partnership with Mercedes-Benz, are giving players the chance to purchase an exclusive new car in CSR Racing, the Mercedes-AMG GT. It will be available to players for $4.99, again, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to (RED)’s fight against AIDS.(source:inisde mobile apps

2,First announced in July 2014, Amazon Game Studios’ Tales from Deep Space is now available to download on Kindle Fire tablets. The game takes players to a space station called Big Moon, where they’ll jump into the shoes of traveling salesman E, alongside a luggage drone named CASI. Upon arriving on Big Moon, players discover the station’s computer system is offline and E is robbed, leading players on a mission to recover E’s stolen property. Things quickly go
from bad to worse for E, as his quest turns into one of discovery, surrounding the station’s mysteries.

Tales from Deep Space is an side-scrolling action-adventure title that sees players tapping and dragging on the screen to move. Key items are marked with prompts, which can be tapped to trigger conversations with others, interactions with machines and other key items, and more. Players can swap control between E and CASI to complete certain objectives.

For instance, players may need to walk through a door that only opens if a button is pressed. Players can assign CASI to wait on the button, leaving the door open so E can walk through. Both E and CASI are outfitted with weapons, and players can tap on enemies to defeat them. If one character goes down in battle, the other can be used to revive them. If both players go down, they respawn at certain checkpoints so players can try again.(source:inside mobile apps.com

3,The launch of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus at the end of September pushed App Store downloads to record levels in October, says new research from mobile marketing analysts Fiksu.

Fiksu’s methodology is to measure the download numbers of the top 200 iOS apps and extrapolate from there. Non-gaming apps are included in the figures.

During October, those methods calculated an all-time high of 7.8 million downloads of the top 200 apps per day on average, a jump of 42 per cent from the 5.5 million in September. However, that volume also drives competition. Cost per install for iOS went up to $1.46 – jumping 21 per cent month by month and 59 per cent year on year. For Android, the CPI sits at $1.01, up just 1 per cent from September and 2 per cent since 2013.

“An important lesson this month for marketers is the value of nurturing user loyalty prior to device launches and gift-giving seasons,” reads the report. “Despite the marked rise in advertising costs particularly on iOS, the Cost Per Loyal User Index (CPLU) indicated a slight decline in October to $2.16 from September’s $2.25. This decrease is a result of the tendency of app users to quickly re-download their most-used ‘vital’ apps during upgrades. The first set of apps users download on their new iPhone 6s are likely to be those they can’t live without, which makes them much more likely to become loyal users of those apps.(source:gamesindustry
