1，One of the true App Store classics is Kairosoft’s 2010 release of Game Dev Story [$4.99], which was pretty much just a simple port of a game that they originally released on PC in Japan in the late ’90s. It wasn’t the prettiest game, nor did it have any fancy features that took advantage of iOS’s capabilities. What it did have was an unparalleled gaming experience that let you create your own fictional game company and release your own fictional games. The amount of tongue-in-cheek humor and video game cultural references was incredible, and the game itself was a very satisfying simulation. The
game’s popularity prompted Kairosoft to release a multitude of similar simulations for mobile devices, and while many of them are quite good there’s really nothing that’s topped Game Dev Story.
The only time Game Dev Story has received any sort of update was way back in April of 2011 when Kairosoft added support for Game Center. That was several iOS versions ago and well before even 4-inch screens debuted with the iPhone 5 in 2012, and obviously before the newer screen sizes of the iPhone 6 models came along. Despite all that, Game Dev Story still worked just fine, although it felt woefully outdated and the visuals were especially pixelated and blurry on

1，The release of Advanced Warfare has nudged the Call of Duty franchise beyond $10 billion in lifetime revenue.
That’s according to Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick, who also claimed that Advanced Warfare is, “the biggest entertainment launch of 2014 in terms of revenue, surpassing all movie, music and book launches this year.”
No specific numbers for Advanced Warfare’s revenue were offered in support of that claim, though Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg added that game sales and Season Pass sales were both up compared to last year’s Call of Duty: Ghosts. Hirshberg also spoke of an increase in “engagement,” though he wasn’t specific about how that was measured.
“The game has been very positively reviewed and the response from fans has been tremendous,” Hirshberg said in a statement. “We believe Advanced Warfare will be the most successful game of the year and we thank our fans for making it the biggest entertainment launch of the year.”
This lack of specificity is unusual for Activision Blizzard, a company that generally alerts the press when its key products pass major milestones.The company revealed that it had sold-in $1 billion worth of Call of Duty: Ghosts stock to retailers the day after its launch. Revenue figures for early sales performance were released for Black Ops 2, Modern Warfare 3, Black Ops and Modern Warfare 2 – virtually the series’ entire tenure as the most popular shooter on the market. Activision Blizzard also released a sell-in figure for Destiny , its other major FPS release this year.
Prior to its launch, a number of analysts predicted that Advanced Warfare would continue the downward trend evident in the performance of Call of Duty: Ghosts. Available retail charts, while imperfect, indicate that it has performed at least as well as Ghosts, though the absence of clarity on the part of Activision Blizzard is only likely to fuel the discussion of Call of Duty as a series either in or entering a period of decline.
In a note passed to the press today, Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter stated that the uncertainty created by this absence of sales figures is putting negative pressure on Activision Blizzard’s share price.（source：gamesindustry ）
3，Developer Double Fine confirmed to GamesIndustry.biz today that it’s unfortunately had to let a dozen members of its team go due to the cancellation of a project.
“One of our unannounced projects was unexpectedly cancelled by its publisher, forcing us to reduce our staff by 12 people. Our remaining projects–Broken Age, Massive Chalice, and Grim Fandango Remastered, were unaffected,” said studio head Tim Schafer.
For Double Fine fans, the studio’s Massive Chalice became available through Steam Early Access earlier this month. Buying the game now saves players 25 percent off the final game’s price. The full release of the strategy RPG is expected next spring. The developer also plans to show off the latest build of Grim Fandango Remastered at the PlayStation Experience in Las Vegas in December.
Double Fine made headlines recently when the studio’s COO Justin Bailey issued remarks during the Montreal International Game Summit that Metacritic’s “all but obsolete” for developers who’ve come to obssess over it as an indicator of future sales.（source：gamesindustry ）
4，Ironhide Game Studio has announced the launch of Kingdom Rush: Origins, the prequel to the original Kingdom Rush tower defense game, which hit iOS devices in 2012. In Kingdom Rush: Origins, players complete levels across three main level varieties and three difficulty levels, defeating 30 new enemy types and building towers with over 18 abilities.
Kingdom Rush: Origins offers three difficulty settings for each level, so players of all skill levels can try their hand at the experience. Users must successfully complete each level under the Classic gameplay mode before unlocking Iron and Heroic modes, which are more challenging. In Heroic mode, for instance, players may lose all access to archers and mages.
During each level, players command their elven army as they defend key locations from sea serpents, sorcerers, gnoll tribesmen, giant spiders and many others.
