1,While the company he used to oversee daily absorbs yet another massive loss, Zynga chairman Mark Pincus has revealed a new outfit that he’s started in San Francisco called Superlabs, Re/code reports. Kara Swisher assigned it the cute label of “Pincubator” but Pincus said “I don’t want to call it an incubator exactly.” It’s more about fueling the digital concepts he has been considering since stepping down from Zynga’s hot seat.

While Pincus said that Zynga gets some of his attention weekly, more recently most of his time has been spent on Superlabs. He’s already hired some young talent to work on two ideas that he is not disclosing yet. Although Superlabs is currently being funded with Pincus’ own money, he acknowledged that he would seek the help of venture firms in the near future when Superlabs begins to look at startups.

It’s unclear exactly what Pincus has in mind just yet, but what is clear is that he still believes very strongly in mobile. “I really think the opportunity is still out there now that mobile has so disrupted the market and left a lot of areas to be innovated,” he remarked. “It’s a great time to be making things.”(source:gamesindustry

2,When casual games company King went public early this year, Candy Crush Saga accounted for a whopping 78 percent of the company’s total gross bookings and King made a point of admitting that it needed to diversify its catalog of games to survive long-term.

Today it continues to harp on this point in its latest earnings report, noting that while Non-GAAP gross bookings for the third quarter ending in September were down 16 percent year-over-year to $543.9 million, Candy Crush Saga only accounted for 51 percent of the total, or $279 million — a 23 percent drop in the game’s bookings from the prior quarter.

“We have a consistent track record of developing successive hit games and as a result, have increased our non-Candy Crush Saga gross bookings to $264 million in third quarter 2014,” said King CEO Riccardo Zacconi, adding that if that rate stays consistent through a full year it will beat $1 billion, which “makes our non-Candy Crush Saga business larger than most every other mobile gaming company.”(source:gamasutra

3,Mobile developer and publisher Com2uS has announced the global launch of its pet simulation and breeding title, Kung Fu Pets, on iOS and Android devices. The game encourages players to collect, raise and train over 100 critters, before eventually taking them into battle against other real players.

In Kung Fu Pets, players are taken to the land of Xiaolin, 1,000 years after a war that sent the Kung Fu Pets into a great sleep. Players are led by Grandmaster Chen, and must work to wake these pets and train them into kung fu masters. To start, players purchase pets from the store and place them into habitats matching their particular elements, like earth and forest. Later, they combine pets to receive new varieties.

Players build a bistro to create food for the pets to eat, and can feed these pets to level them up. Once players hit certain level thresholds, they evolve into stronger pets. These pets can be taken into battle against other real-world players in the arena.

Arena battles are turn-based, and see players choosing one attack per turn to damage the enemy, while also keeping in mind a pet’s element and its relationship to other elements (think “rock, paper, scissors”). If players win these battles, they earn overall league points, which fill a meter at the bottom of the screen. When players have filled the meter, they receive prizes like free premium currency.(source:insidemobileapps.com

4,Gamevil has announced the release of Mark of the Dragon on iOS and Android devices. Developed by Brainz Games, the game sees players building and defending a kingdom while also collecting and breeding dragons to ride during combat. To do so, players create a character based on one of four elements, each with its own advantage during battle.

In Mark of the Dragon, players return from the frontline of battle to their kingdom, which has been destroyed by an evil sorcerer. Users must balance the use of iron and lumber to rebuild their kingdom, focusing both on resource production and storage buildings, as well defensive items like catapults and walls.

Players start with two dragons, and can breed these to unlock more dragons. Users can also summon troops to join their army, before taking their chosen dragons into battle against computer-controlled troops. There are over 130 dragons available to breed and evolve so far.(source:inside mobileapps
