(本文为游戏邦/gamerboom.com编译)

And the social gaming invasion continues. A survey conducted by the Entertainment Software Association of Canada (ESAC) suggests that 39 percent of gamers way up north play games on social networking websites like Facebook. This is fairly close to the recently reported 41 percent of U.S. gamers, so it looks like Canadian and American game enthusiasts are jamming to the same wavelength. Way to be gellin’, North America.

However, ESAC reports that only seven percent of the 3,500 Canadian gamers questioned are playing on their smartphone, which can’t possibly be close to the U.S. average when iPhone social games net more viewers than Sunday Night Football. Are smartphones less common with our neighbors to the north? Not according to Canadian Business, who reports that smartphone sales are actually on the rise, but users just don’t get them while in the U.S. Nielsen expects the devices to dominate by as early as next year.

It looks like Canada has some learnin’ to do before mobile social games take hold like traditional Facebook games have. Considering that they’re pretty sharp folks, it should only be a matter of time before they experience the woes of FarmVille for iPhone the Canadian way–which probably isn’t much different than how we handle it: fits of blind rage, of course.
