例如《Hit It Rich! 》目前就位居iPad博彩游戏免费下载榜单之首。(本文为游戏邦/gameboom.com编译,拒绝任何不保留版权的转载,如需转载请联系:游戏邦

1)Did a hacker just reveal how much Clash of Clans makes in a day?

By Jim Squires

Clash of Clans is a big game. #2 top grossing on the App Store for more than a year big (and as of this writing, #1). $1.5 billion to get a 51% control of the company big. BIG big.

But what does this “bigness” really translate to in terms of day-to-day dollars? According to one hacker, the answer is around $5 million a day.
Last night, the official Clash of Clans Facebook page was hacked by someone using the name ‘Ethical Spectrum.’ After posting a quick message to confirm the hack, an image was posted that allegedly depicts Supercell’s in-house analytics dashboard, which revealed a revenue of $5.15m for February 7, 2014.

Before we jump to conclusions, there are a lot of reasons to cast doubt on the accuracy of this. For one, we don’t know who the hacker is or where they got their information. For all we know they could have just whipped this together in Photoshop to pull a prank. And even if it is real, we don’t have the context to understand what that number really means. Is that company-wide revenue, or just for Clash of Clans?

And if this is real, how much is Supercell spending a day in customer acquisition to get this number? If they spend $4m a day in advertising costs (and I saw a TV spot for Clash of Clans recently, so it’s certainly in the realm of possibility), and they have regular operating costs to contend with, $5m a day could mean they’re barely breaking even. There’s just no way to know.(source:gamezebo

2)Still have Flappy Bird installed? Your phone could be worth big bucks

By Jim Squires

You might think that everyone who had even the slightest inkling of interest in playing Flappy Bird would already have the game installed on their phones, but if the auctions on eBay today are anything to go by, that doesn’t appear to be the case.

First reported by USA Today, thousands of auctions for phones with the game installed on it have sprung up in the hours since Dong Nguyen removed Flappy Bird from the App Store and Google Play. And here’s a twist you might not be expecting – some of them are actually getting bids.

Or at least it looks that way at first glance.

One auction, for example, has seen 65 bids and has gone up to $90,200 as of this writing… but other auctions, like this one which features the same model iPhone, can’t seem to get a bid with a humble $900 starting point. Inconsistencies like this are running rampant throughout these auctions, which could be something fishy, or… well… it’s eBay.

Most of the devices up for auction are iPhones – probably because the piracy-friendly nature of Android devices means people can keep downloading the game whether it’s on Google Play or not. So if you have a spare iPhone with Flappy Bird installed and need a little extra cash for Valentine’s Day, I wouldn’t count on a guaranteed sale, but why not give it a shot?(source:gamezebo

3)Warner Bros. planning an animated movie based on Batman: Arkham video game series

Jared Mosley

The Batman: Arkham series is one of the most successful in recent history. So successful, apparently, that Warner Bros. has decided it’s worth an animated movie in a new, shared DC Comics universe.

Warner Bros. is planning on creating a continuous universe between future DC movies, similar to Marvel Studios’ Cinematic Universe. “We can do original content, we can do New 52 stuff,” director Jay Oliva told The Hollywood Reporter. By original content, Oliva was referring to his next project, called Batman: Assault on Arkham, which is based on the Batman: Arkham video game series. The New 52 refers to DC Comics’ 2011 cancellation of all of its comic book series and simultaneous reboot of 52 new or existing ones.

Two of gaming’s most famous voice actors will reprise their roles from the Arkham series in the upcoming film: Troy Baker, who will play the Joker, and Nolan North as the Penguin/Oswald Cobblepot. Baker is also known for portraying protagonist Joel in last year’s hit game The Last of Us and main character Booker DeWitt in another hit from last year, BioShock Infinite.

North is well-known for his role as the Uncharted series’ hero Nathan Drake as well as Assassin’s Creed’s lead character Desmond Miles. These two are as close to stardom as a video game voice actor can be.

The first of the new line of films is Justice League: War, directed by Oliva, which released Feb. 4. The next entry will be Son of Batman, which is based on the same Batman who appears in Justice League: War, WB producer James Tucker told Comic Book Resources. “It’s kind of world-building,” said Tucker.

Oliva has plenty of directing credits across television and movies, and he’s known for directing the recent two-part movie series Batman: The Dark Knight Returns.

4)Nokia’s first Android phone, low-cost & sans Google services, may launch soon

Barry Levine

Nokia, whose mobile business will soon be owned by Microsoft, will reportedly unveil its first Android phone in a couple of weeks.

The result could be an Android fork that uses Microsoft and Nokia services instead of Google’s.

On Monday, the Wall Street Journal reported that the device, code named Normandy, will be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress, which opens February 24, 2014, in Barcelona. The publication quoted “people familiar with the matter.” Screenshots of the rumored low-cost device, targeted at high-growth emerging markets, have been floating around since December.

An Android phone had been in the works at Nokia before Microsoft made its winning offer for buy the Finnish company’s mobile business. Nokia had taken the Microsoft platform plunge three years ago, when it decided to adopt Microsoft Windows Phone for its phones.

Ross Rubin, Principal Analyst for industry researcher Reticle Research, pointed out to VentureBeat that Nokia’s approach might be similar to the Kindle model. The Amazon tablet runs on an Android platform that has a different ecosystem of apps and services than other Android smartphones and tablets, which feature Google’s own software.

‘Groundbreaking Move’

He noted,”[Kindle can] run many Android applications, with some ‘Kindle-edition’ customization.” The key bet that Micrsoft and Nokia are making, Rubin said, “is their non-Google services would be compelling enough to woo consumers from other platforms,” including the Android platform with Google services. The Journal said those non-Google services will include Nokia’s Here maps, Mix Radio, and a Nokia app store featuring Android apps. Since the merger has not yet closed, it’s not clear at the moment what, if any, Microsoft services would be offered0.(source:venturebeat

5)Zynga sticks with what works: Riches of Olympus is its next mobile slots game

Jeffrey Grubb

Zynga has a plan to avoid getting left behind on mobile, and it involves more social casino games.

The publisher announced today that it has a new Zynga Casino product available to download now on iOS. The game, called Slots: Riches of Olympus, features Zeus and other Roman gods and focuses on real Las Vegas-style slots mechanics. Riches of Olympus joins Zynga Poker and the recently released Hit It Rich! slots game in Zynga’s stable of casino titles for mobile.

While the social-gaming publisher has struggled to translate its huge success with games like FarmVille on Facebook to mobile, the company’s casino properties do tend to perform well. For example, Hit It Rich! is currently the top-downloaded free iPad game in the casino category. Riches of Olympus is part of the publisher’s efforts to expand on the mobile categories that are currently generating revenue.

The other part of that plan is to release games with high production values, according to Zynga executive vice president of games Barry Cottle.(source:venturebeat
