1)Sega of America today announced the launch of Demon Tribe on iOS. Described as a “battle arena card collecting game,” Demon Tribe challenges players with collecting and fusing demons to create a team capable of defeating the wild demons that have appeared in the world.

Demon Tribe sees players controlling their character through 3D environments, battling enemies in real-time. A single tap on an enemy causes the player character to attack the targeted enemy automatically, but players can give them further commands during battle.

When encountering a particularly tough enemy, players can assume the form of a demon, unlocking more health points and massive attacks for a limited time. The game offers over 250 unique demons to collect and fuse, as well as a cooperative clan battle system offering 3-vs-3 real-time battles.

Demon Tribe was created by Masayoshi Kikuchi, the producer and director of the Panzer Dragoon series, the Yakuza series and Jet Grind Radio.

“We’ve created a unique experience that delves into the magical land of demons and monsters in a never before seen way,” said Kikuchi, in a company statement. “Demon Tribe brings together elements of our favorite genres as the game experience is filled with fast, responsive action while offering an amazing level of depth and detailed RPG elements.”

Demon Tribe is now available to download for free on iOS, and is supported via in-app purchases. Players that download the game at launch will have access to exclusive and/or rare demons based on the rock band KISS.(source:inside mobile apps

2)Disney Interactive today announced the launch of Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse on iOS devices. The game is a reimagining of the classic Sega Genesis / Mega Drive game released in 1990, and sees Mickey Mouse embarking on a quest to save Minnie Mouse from the evil witch Mizrabel.

Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse offers five different worlds, each with its own set of levels and unique enemies. An enchanted forest area, for instance, sees players dealing with angry tree trunks and spiders, while an indoor area sees players avoiding larger-than-life moving books, evil toy planes, toy soldiers and much more.

The side-scrolling platformer challenges players with collecting seven rainbow gems to create a bridge to Mizrabel’s Tower in order to rescue Minnie, and gamers will face a variety of boss battles in their attempt to collect them.(source:inside mobile apps

3)Hammer & Chisel, the game developer set up by OpenFeint founder Jason Citron, has raised $8.7 million.

The investment was led by Mitch Lasky, a general partner at Benchmark Capital.

Lasky led Benchmark’s early investment in League of Legions studio Riot Games, and also sits in the board of CSR Racing studio NaturalMotion, following Benchmark’s investment in summer 2012.

Other companies involved are Time Warner and existing investors Studio 9+, Accel Partners, IDG Capital Partners, and GC Capital Partners.

They previously invested $1.1 million in the studio.

Holding out for a hero

Hammer & Chisel is currently working on its League of Legions-inspired MOBA Fates Forever.

The investment will be used to help launch the game, which is a tablet-only multiplayer-focused experience. The 10-strong developer is also hiring.

“As I was building OpenFeint I would often around and wonder why there weren’t any fantastic core games to play on my iPad like World of Warcraft or Magic the Gathering,” said Citron.

“Millions of gamers are going to grow up in a world where their first personal computer is a tablet, not a desktop PC. It seems like a no-brainer that these gamers will want to sit down and play a 45 minute session of a game like League or Dota 2.” (source:pocketgamer

4)Capcom (9697) released social RPG “Street Fighter x All Capcom” in Japan, an original RPG specifically designed for smartphones. The game features characters from over 20 titles the company released over the years.

Street Fighter x All Capcom is one of the many products the company pushed out this year to celebrate its 30th anniversary.

The RPG features around 500 different characters from Capcom games like Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, Mega Man, Devil May Cry, and even obscure titles like 2D robot fighter Cyberbots or classic arcade shooter 1942.

Users can create decks using characters cards and choose between a number of game modes, including Street Fight (side-scrolling quests for single players), Team Battle (fight against bosses with a deck of powerful Capcom characters or as part of a 20 player vs 20 player group battle), or PvP Battle.

In true card battler style, cards can be leveled up and fused to make them more powerful.

What’s interesting is that users need to choose their favorite Capcom title first and then become part of a group of players that went for the same title. The goal is to make that title the No. 1 among the 20+ Capcom has provided for the RPG (to become “Capcom No. 1″).

Street Fighter x All Capcom is currently only available in Japan as a F2P native app on the App Store and Google Play.(source:Serkantoto
