根据福布斯在2009年的报道，当时任天堂游戏设备销售量超过2000万，这个数值比微软和索尼的总和还多。但是与此同时，apple旗下的iphone销售在9月份的时候就达到了1410万。

Fils-Aime表示，苹果给任天堂带来的威胁绝对要大于微软。

曾经任天堂最大的对手荣誉属于索尼的PlayStation，但是现在这个荣誉属于苹果。据curnch gear消息，现在任天堂的营收已经从30.3亿美元急速下降到24.8亿美元，而任天堂公司主席Satoru Iwata之前已经批示，将苹果公司列为他们最难缠的心头大患。

据市场咨询公司newzoo的研究，苹果IOS正在与任天堂DS-DSI、索尼PSP角逐全球游戏市场。在美国苹果IOS有4010万的用户，任天堂DS-DSI有4100万的用户而索尼PSP则仅有1800万用户。在英国，苹果IOS有800万的用户，任天堂DS-DSI有1300万的用户而索尼PSP则仅有450万用户。在德国，苹果IOS有700万的用户，任天堂DS-DSI有1000万的用户而索尼PSP则仅有250万用户。

In an interview with Forbes, Nintendo president Reggie Fils-Aime talks a bit about the company’s current competitors, admitting Apple is the one to watch out for.

Forbes reports that in 2009, Nintendo sold more than 20 million game devices, which is greater than Microsoft and Sony combined. The only other competitor that comes close is Apple, which has sold more than 14.1 million iPhones during the quarter ending in September.

“Do I think that in the near term they can hurt us more than Microsoft?” Fils-Aime says. “Absolutely.”
