日前，致力于创建开放式应用平台的电信公司联盟WAC（Wholesale Applications Community）宣布，Myriad（欧洲最大的移动软件公司之一）、Accenture（管理咨询、信息技术和业务流程外包的跨国公司）、Ericsson（全球最大的电信设备制造商之一）、华为（世界四大3G电信网络解决方案供应商之一）、英特尔（Intel，全球最大的半导体芯片制造商）、美国高通（Qualcomm，数字无线通信产品和服务提供商）等公司也加入该联盟，截止目前，WAC共有48名成员。

据悉，WAC于今年2月由一些运营商联合成立，旨在为开发商提供共享API，编写可部署到多个平台的应用程序。

今年7月，该联盟作为一家企业实体成立，本次新增成员中的一些行业基础设备制造巨头可能对此发挥重大作用。

WAC的首席执行官Peters Suh表示，“WAC现在已有48名成员致力于建立开发式应用平台，可帮助开发商简化应用开发程序，为客户提供更优质的选择……新成员的加盟，表明WAC的主张正在市场上赢得重要的发展。”

据了解，继WAC与JIL（联合创新实验室）合并后，WAC在本月初还公布了WAC 1.0技术说明书。（本文为游戏邦/gamerboom.com编译）

The WAC was formed in February by a group of operators in order to provide shared APIs that will give developers the opportunity to write apps that can be deployed across multiple platforms.

It’s pitching this as a single ‘pipe’ for reaching a potential 3bn subscribers.

An independent company was formed in July to promote and manage the activities of the WAC. Must be working as the new additions include some of the industry’s biggest infrastructural names.

“WAC now has 48 members committed to building open platforms, simplifying the application development process for developers and providing their customers with greater choice,” said Peters Suh, CEO of WAC.

“The influx of new members, combined with our continued delivery against key milestones, demonstrates that the WAC initiative is gaining significant momentum in the market.”

WAC also announced the availability of the WAC 1.0 specification following the completion of the WAC and JIL merger at the beginning of the month.（source:mobile-ent）
