据商业周刊的消息，日本游戏巨头生化危机（Resident Evil）和街头霸王（Street Fighter）开发者Capcom将于10月初推出facebook版社交游戏。该信息由Capcom主席Haruhiro Tsujimoto在日本东京电玩展向媒介透露。

因此Capcom开始尝试传统游戏之外新的机会，据称除了社交游戏和手机游戏，Capcom还筹划着和中国网页游戏的协作，该协作预计2011年的时候就能正式对外公布。

Capcom Co., the Japanese publisher of the “Resident Evil” and “Street Fighter” game series, plans to launch a game for Facebook Inc.’s 500 million users as early as October, President Haruhiro Tsujimoto said.

The Osaka-based company is developing three game titles downloadable on Apple Inc.’s iPhone that include a connection with Facebook, Tsujimoto said today at the Tokyo Game Show 2010. He declined to give specific release dates and content details.

Capcom is looking to capitalize on the popularity of games on Facebook and News Corp.’s MySpace, a market ThinkEquity LLC estimates will triple to $2 billion by 2012 in the U.S. The company, which gets more than half of its revenue from selling software packaged in discs, is facing mounting competition from cheaper titles on Apple Inc.’s iPhone and free offerings by social-networking services.

“Two of the games will have our original content and one more will include licensed characters,” Tsujimoto said.

The company is also in partnership talks with an online- game company in China, and an agreement may be announced next year, Tsujimoto said.

Capcom gained 1.6 percent to 1,377 yen by the 3 p.m. close of Tokyo trading. The shares have declined 10 percent this year.

Games played on social networks are free, with the makers of the titles generating revenue by selling virtual goods that help players advance to higher levels.

Zynga Game Network Inc., whose “FarmVille” is the most popular game on Facebook, may record $500 million in sales this year from virtual objects ranging from tractors to machine guns for “Mafia Wars,” according to Inside Network estimates.（source：businessweek）
