After 700,000 Android downloads, The Moron Test gets a Lite iOS version

The difference between a moron and a genius can sometimes be a slight as a suit and tie.

In iPhone and Android game The Moron Test, you’ll likely be branded both as you try to work your way through the four sections, each of which consist of over a hundred steps that get you to touch(or not touch depending on the question) your device in different ways to demonstrate your intelligence.

Perhaps more interesting, at least to industry observers however is the way the game’s downloads have been driven by the popularity of the free Lite version, which consists of one of those four sections.

Released two months ago on Android, that Lite version has been downloaded over 700,000 times from the Android Market.

Even more impressive, is that over 65,000 of the 99c paid version have been downloaded too; half of which were upsold (in biz parlance) from the Lite version.

Indeed, so impressed is US developer DistinctDev that it’s just released a similar Lite version for Apple devices in the hope it will similarly boost its paid download numbers on the App Store.

“Seeing these results on the Android platform convinced us that a Lite version for iTunes App Store was essential,” said Berkeley Malagon, president and CEO of DistinctDev.

“We’re excited about comparing the performance across the two platforms and sharing the results with the community.”

The Moron Test is available for Android and iPhone devices priced 99c, €0.79 or 59p.
