6)据pocketgamer报道,Tapulous日前向App Store推出免费手机游戏《Tap Tap Glee》,该游戏包含《Don’t Stop Believin》、《Hell To The No’》和《My Cup》等多首在Fox电视台的一部以音乐为主题的幽默喜剧《Glee》中屡获好评的歌曲。用户还可以通过IAP(应用内置付费功能)购买另外50首曲子,游戏将在每周二推出新的音乐内容。

1)Developer Kairosoft bringing shopping centre simulation Mega Mall Story to iPhone

by Anthony Usher

Kairosoft’s ‘Story’ franchise – which includes the highly addictive Game Dev Story – is set to be bolstered once again, with a new shopping centre simulation entitled Mega Mall Story.

As always with upcoming Kairosoft releases, details are scarce, but it’s safe to assume that you’ll be running a mall, constructing shops and businesses, employing staff, and maybe even ordering stock.

We just hope it’s as addictive as Kairosoft’s previous iPhone management sims.

History story

The developer’s lauded back catalogue on mobile includes the Silver Award-winning Game Dev Story, Hot Springs Story, and Pocket Academy, and the up-to-now Android exclusive Grand Prix Story.

We hope the latter, as well as these ten potential beauties, eventually, make it to iOS.

There’s currently no sniff of a solid release date for Mega Mall Story, but you can expect it ‘soon’.(source:pocketgamer

2)Dragon Age Legends developer EA2D becomes part of BioWare

By Andrew Webster

EA2D was a studio within Electronic Arts that was focused on creating web and social-based games, including Dragon Age Legends on Facebook. Now the studio has been re-branded and will fall under the BioWare umbrella.

According to a report from Gamasutra, the studio will now be known as BioWare San Francisco. BioWare is an EA-owned developer best known for creating epic role-playing games for consoles and the PC, such as the Mass Effect and Dragon Age series.

In addition to its work on Legends, EA2D also worked on another Dragon Age spin-off as well, in the form of the browser-based RPG Dragon Age Journeys. Presumably, the studio will continue to develop web and social games aimed at complimenting existing BioWare franchises.(source:gamezebo

3)Ofcom: Third of UK adults use smartphones – iPhone most popular, teens like BlackBerrys

By: Dusan Belic

According to a report by the British telecoms regulator Ofcom, one in three adults in the UK now uses a smartphone. The iPhone is said to be the single most popular device with 32% of adults picking Apple’s handset as their favorite. Teenagers on their end favor RIM’s Blackberrys, which were identified as the preferred brand by 37% of young people. It’s fair to assume teens text a lot and appreciate awesome keyboards pretty much any Blackberry smartphone rocks.

Unsurprisingly with the increased adoption of smartphones, mobile internet use has risen as well. Facebook is the single most visited website on handheld devices, with 43 million hours spent on it in December 2010.

Gender-wise, male adults lead with 58% compared to 42% of females. As for the teenage smartphone users, the trend was reversed with 52% of girls using smartphones against 48% of boys.(source:intomobile

4)Konami Goes With Cute Concepts in Gesundheit! on iOS

By Christopher Mack

Video game publisher Konami adds to its iOS repertoire this week with stealth puzzle game, Gesundheit!, which currently sits at #58 for iPhone and #24 on iPad. The game, developed by Australian indie house Revolutionary Concepts, hit the App Store on July 28 with a promotional half-off price of $0.99 on iPhone and $1.99 on iPad.

The game puts players in the role of a little green pig named Gesundheit that must defeat several enemy types out to eat him and his friends. Gameplay consists of navigating Gesundheit through a maze-like level viewed from the top-down perspective, trying to position him or his snot in such a way as to lure enemies into a maw of an underground fish. Players control Gesundheit by tapping on locations where they want the pig to go, which can lead to difficulties as the path-finding mechanism automatically chooses the quickest route instead of the one most likely to avoid enemies.

Once enemies spot Gesundheit, they will give chase until Gesundheit rounds a corner far enough away to “hide” from the pursuing creature or until Gesundheit leads them to their deaths. Players can also tap on the pig, drag backwards to alter trajectory, and fire a ball of snot onto the map. Should it land in line of sight of an enemy, the creature will happily jaunt on over and eat it. The idea of this mechanism is to lure enemies to where the player wants them without revealing Gesundheit’s location.

Like other puzzle games, Gesundheit! tracks level high scores via Apple’s Game Center. Scores are totally from time to complete, number of snot balls used, and how many Star Fruit the player collects within a level. Each level has three Star Fruit, which only Gesundheit himself can collect (not his snot balls). These bonus items are not required to progress through individual levels, a cumulative total is required to unlock new sets of level.(source:insidemobileapps

5)Study: Amazon cloud #1 for developers, Apple close behind?

Aislyn Greene

Apple hasn’t even released its iCloud to consumers and already Amazon may be facing stiff competition from the new cloud service.

According to a quarterly survey of mobile developers, Apple’s iCloud will be a top choice for those looking to host their apps in the cloud. The survey, conducted by Appcelerator and IDC, questioned 1,125 mobile app developers about their current and future cloud usage.

51 percent of developers said they planned to use Amazon’s cloud services in the next year, and 50 percent said they planned to use Apple’s iCloud. Microsoft Windows Azure and VMWare both significantly trailed behind the top two players.

Though not slated for a consumer release until fall, Apple has already released its iCloud to developers for testing. Appcelerator’s vice president of marketing, Scott Schwarzhoff, had some interesting comments about developers’ responses to the new product in an interview with CNET.

He told the news site that developers believe Apple’s cloud tools will be easier to use, and suggested that’s because Apple is offering fewer cloud features than Amazon.

Schwarzhoff said the assumption is that iCloud will allow developers to focus more on their applications without worrying about syncing and cloud connectivity, as opposed to Amazon, which requires them to build everything.(source:techflash

6)Tapulous and Fox Digital Entertainment band together to bring rhythm-based Tap Tap Glee to iPhone

by Anthony Usher

Tapulous’s popular Tap Tap series of rhythm-action games is the latest victim of Glee mania, returning to the App Store sporting William McKinley High School colours.

Adding to a long list of themed Tap Tap offerings, Tap Tap Glee features all your (or her) favourite hit songs from the award-winning fox TV show, including Journey’s classic ‘Don’t Stop Believin’, ‘Hell To The No’, and ‘My Cup’.

An extra 50 tracks are available through in-app purchases, with new music bundles set to be rolled out every Tuesday.

The Gleeks amongst you will get more than just a music fix, though: you have the ability to ‘slushy’ your friends on Facebook; view character bios, quotes, and photos; and even watch an exclusive video from Glee: The 3D Concert Movie (which is out on August 12th, if you’re into that kind of thing.)

There are also planned content updates to coincide with the broadcasting of the third season of Glee, which premieres on September 20th. At least, in the US.(source:pocketgamer
