而Bigpoint用户也可通过bigpoint.com访问《Lengend Legacy of the Dragons》、《Juggernaut》、《Empire Craft》和《GodsWar Online》等游戏。

但原版《Zoo World》却仍然活跃于Facebook平台,据AppData数据显示,《Zoo World》目前的MAU是192万9293,DAU是35万3789。

1)Survey: Dad’s the One to Like in Social Media, Gaming, Entertainment

By: Jack Neff Bio

Dads, even more than moms, believe they’re spending more time with their kids these days than their parents did. But how dads are spending that time skews heavily toward media, entertainment and the internet, according to a new broad-ranging survey by Ipsos.

MasterfileThe Ipsos LMX Family survey of 715 parents of kids 12 and under conducted this winter found dads are spending 50% or more time than moms with kids online, playing video games and going to movies, live theater or sporting events.

By a 33% to 26% margin, the dads were also more likely to be friends with their kids on social networks — remarkable not just because dad is more likely to be the social-media guardian, but also because all the kids in the study were under the officially required age to join Facebook or many other social networks.

Overall, by a 72% to 67% margin, dads are more likely than moms to say they spend more time with their kids than their parents did, Ipsos found.

What dads are making time to do, however, is largely the fun stuff.

“Moms are still more than responsible for the cleaning, cooking, shopping and staying on top of everyone’s practical needs and wants,” said Donna Sabino, senior VP-kids and family insights for Ipsos. “But it is definitely a change, and one for the positive psychologically, that dads are participating more in all aspects, although not to the same level as moms in that day-to-day practical stuff.”

As for the fun, 73% of dads said they’d played a video game with their kids in the past week, vs. only 38% of moms. Not surprisingly, the balance was heaviest in favor of dads on “shooter,” action and sports games. Moms were also less likely than dads, but by slimmer margins, to play racing or strategy games with kids.

Dads were at least 50% more likely than moms to have watched movies or TV shows with their kids in the past week, too. And they were also more likely, but by smaller margins, to in the past year have downloaded music, found educational content or attended live theater, sports or concerts with their kids.

“Dads realize what they do now with their kids has a payoff through their kids’ lives in creating good memories,” Ms. Sabino said. “I think it’s just a smarter generation of dads, and more sensitive to the needs of their kids.”

To that sensitive point, more dads in the survey (53%) than moms (45%) said they try to “always find good family movies to watch as a family at the theater.”(source:adage)

2)Nintendo’s ‘not interested’ in Facebook games, but Wii U will go social

by Joe Osborne

If you’re a bit confused, let us clarify: Nintendo will not make Facebook or mobile games until Pikachu’s fly. But, according to Joystiq, the company is very much interested in social media when it comes to console experiences, specifically the Wii U. When asked during a Q&A about the upcoming console’s online experience, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata admitted, “We are no longer in a period where we cannot have any connection at all with social networking sites.”

Of course, in true Nintendo fashion, no concrete details were given. Though, Iwata went on to say, “We’re looking at ways that will convey to this audience which games are fun and, ideally, in a way that will enable people who are playing those games with others, to share that information socially.”

So, the company still isn’t keen on making its games free, but Nintendo does at least recognize that the social features that Facebook games provide are valuable. However, we’re still waiting to see exactly what Iwata means by “sharing information socially,” and how that will fit into the console’s online infrastructure (which we also know little to nothing about).(source:games)

3)Bigpoint and Mail.Ru Group Collaborate Internationally

By Thorsten Bleich

Online game providers Bigpoint and Mail.Ru Group have agreed to a long-term partnership. Bigpoint and Mail.Ru Group will soon offer selected partner games on their portals. Russian-speaking players who log in via Mail.Ru will be able to find Bigpoint games including Farmerama, DarkOrbit, Seafight or Battlestar Galactica Online. On the other hand, Bigpoint users will also be able to access MMORPGs such as Legend Legacy of the Dragons, Juggernaut, Empire Craft, GodsWar Online via bigpoint.com. Bigpoint games will also be integrated into the Mail.Ru Group’s social networks, Odnoklassniki and My World, which are popular in Russian-speaking countries. Both platforms hope to gain access to new target groups.(source:socialgamesobserver)

4)Zoo World 2 Aims to Maintain RockYou’s Leadership on Facebook While Innovating in Zoo Genre

By Pete Davison

Zoo World 2, sequel to RockYou’s 2-year-old Zoo World, launched on Facebook this week after completing a 200-person closed beta test. RockYou CEO Lisa Marino teased the game back in April; at that time, the developer was aiming for a May 2011 release.

At this time, due to both Zoo World and its sequel being listed on Facebook as simply “Zoo World,” the statistics for the title according to our traffic tracking service AppData reflect the performance of both games. At the time of writing, Zoo World is listed as having 1,929,293 monthly active users and 353,789 daily active users.

Zoo World 2 is a game about designing and building a fully customizable zoo. Players purchase animals and facilities for their zoo and are expected to feed, care for and breed their animals while keeping the public interested in spending money with fun structures. The decision to make a complete sequel to the original Zoo World was born from a desire to innovate while learning from the lessons the past game had taught the team at RockYou.

Knight didn’t share any specifics about Zoo World 2′s immediate future, but noted that a big team is working on the game at RockYou. The company as a whole is continuing to support Zoo World 1 alongside its sequel as well as launching a second new game from its publishing division “very soon.” This game, known as Cloudforest Expedition, is the brainchild of video game industry veterans John Romero and Brenda Braithwaite’s Loot Drop studio.(source:insidesocialgames)

5)The Real Pac-Man Eat Up This Week’s List of Emerging Facebook Games

By AJ Glasser

There’s a certain satisfaction to be gained from seeing an officially licensed Pac-Man Facebook game from Namco Bandai sitting at the top of this week’s list of emerging Facebook games after seeing a Pac-Man pretender creep up on last week’s list. Coming in at number two this week is Peak Games‘ newest venture, Akvaryum, a Turkish-language aquarium simulation.

Meanwhile, a game that hasn’t even launched yet managed to make the top 10 this week as The Sims Social builds momentum based purely on brand recognition. EA’s Facebook version of its popular life simulation series is a collaboration between its internal Sims Studio and EA PlayFish. The title does not have a release date as yet, but EA is encouraging fans to Like the game’s Facebook page to receive exclusive in-game items for when the game actually does launch.

A surprise entry on this week’s list is Dragon Age Legends, EA2D’s Facebook tie-in for console game Dragon Age 2. Though the console game has come and gone and is in between downloadable content pack releases, the social game appears to be going strong through steady content updates by the week. The developer also attributes its recent growth to the release of a stand alone Flash game,Dragon Age Legends: Remix 01 (pictured), which allows players to earn in-game gifts for Dragon Age Legends.(source:insidesocialgames)

6)MapleStory Adventures on Facebook: Clicking cute creatures cheers us up

Joe Osborne

That’s about all that you’ll do in MapleStory Adventures for Facebook, and it’s far more entertaining than it sounds. This social adaptation of the Korean MMO (massively multi-player online game)

by Nexon has dumbed down what was once a deceivingly complex game into something that evokes a single feeling: cheer. This game will relax you so much that, like me, you’ll forget that minutes are actually passing. If you’re having a bad day at work or what have you, just click around at the adorable monsters for a few minutes and we can almost guarantee you’ll feel better for it. However, remember those words “a few minutes,” because that’s about all you’ll get out of a single play session in MapleStory Adventures.

The game, which is in closed beta testing as of this writing, simplifies the whole experience and lowers the barrier to entry so far that even the least-experienced MMO player can understand it.

You have a choice between two classes, Magician and Warrior, and a small selection of avatar features. Regardless of whether you choose Magician or Warrior, the general hook of the game is unchanged: clicking to get things done. There is no keyboard movement in MapleStory Adventures despite its Mario-esque platformer appearance.

While some might consider its lack of depth or complexity a drawback, what truly might turn out to be a major turn-off for players is its current Energy system. (Side note: Last time I checked, most folks like their social games as simple and direct as possible. At least most of us do in the office.) Since each enemy has a certain amount of hit points, and each of your attacks can only do so much damage that improves with Power Rating increases through skills and equipment, monsters take a few hits to go down. However, each and every strike your avatar makes costs one Energy.

This will almost certainly lead to you running dry in less than five minutes, considering every monster will take three to five whacks on average, it seems. Luckily, the friend system in MapleStory Adventures allows players to hire their friends–asynchronously, of course–to help them out with a few extra whacks before they disappear for a few hours.
