据了解，索尼电脑娱乐美国公司将联手The Odd Gentlemen和Lazy8等开发者在自己的PlayStation 3平台上推出社交游戏。

该社交游戏部分将有个独立的称谓Codename，而每款上面的社交游戏都将独立享有专属的游戏环境。据称该平台将优先和独立的社交游戏开发者合作，而不是首先考虑那些跨平台的大型社交游戏公司。

目前已经有四款游戏做好了在接下来数月的时间没上线的准备。其中之一是The Odd Gentlemen公司推出的Dueling Gentlemen绅士的对决；另外一个是Peanut Gallery公司推出的Minor Battle区域战役。

Sony Computer Entertainment America is partnering with developers like The Odd Gentlemen and Lazy8 to launch social games in the PlayStation 3 virtual world, Home. The social initiative will be curated by a new independent Sony label called Codename and each of the games will be exclusive to the Home environment.  SCEA and Codename plan to work primarily with indie developers rather than major social development houses. The social initiative is part of Sony’s plan to leverage Home as a social platform for PS3 owners.

Four games are already prepared for launch over the course of the next several months. One of the games is the Dueling Gentlemen, developed by The Odd Gentlemen. This is a strategy title that will be played in Home’s Plaza area. Another is Minor Battle, a capture-the-flag platformer developed by Peanut Gallery. Codename is developing a game called Super Awesome RPG. Lazy8′s gear-based puzzle game Cogs will appear in a special 3D version on Home.

These will not be the first social or freemium games launched in Home. Users of the virtual world can already play over 100 games embedded into the world including Sodium, a game that supports microtransactions, This social game initiative is special because Sony is billing it as the first part of a multi-year initiative to turn Home into more of a social platform with more social network-like features.
