Gameloft partners with Qualcomm for HD mobile games

Mobile gaming has undoubtedly gained global popularity due to improved user interfaces and increasing accessibility in emerging markets. Well, Qualcomm recently revealed that it has signed an agreement with Gameloft to enrich Gameloft titles like SpiderMan Total Mayhem HD, Real Football 2011 HD, GT Racing: Motor Academy HD and Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus.

This agreement is expected to augment Gameloft’s HD mobile games for Qualcomm’s existing and future generation Snapdragon processors like the MSM8x55 and dual-core MSM8x60. It will also enhance Gameloft’s premier games for Android-based devices.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon dual-core CPU processors sport two asynchronous CPU cores clocked at around 1.5GHz per core and integrated Adreno 220 GPU. It also boasts of superior multimedia capabilities, including a high performance DSP for Dolby5.1, SRS and other surround sound technologies, Adobe Flash 10 hardware acceleration, and video accelerators for full HD 1080p encode and decode along with the support for games on widescreen TVs with the help of standard interfaces such as HDMI.
