日前，网页浏览器公司Opera Software宣布正式推出自己的应用商店Opera Mobile Store，支持用户通过mobilestore.opera.com访问该应用商店。据游戏邦了解，Opera Mobile Store由应用商店服务供应商Appia（原名Pocketgear）协助创建和运营，同时提供付费和免费下载应用，目前已面向约200个国家和地区开放服务。

该公司将通过Opera Mini的快速拔号链接（Speed Dial link）和Opera Mobile网页浏览器推荐Opera Mobile Store服务。该应用商店现在支持Symbain、Android、黑莓和Java四种手机平台，可针对不同手机的操作系统、使用语言和货币，提供不同的用户体验。

该应用商店即将针对不同地区添加手机计费系统和其他付费选项，但目前还没有公布具体的服务上线日期。

为了支持发行商向该平台投放产品，Opera Software还面向这一群体发布了Opera Publisher Portal。游戏邦获悉，在预发布过程中，该应用商店在今年2月已聚集了1500万以上的用户，每日下载量达到70万次，使Opera Mobile Store顺利跻身世界手机应用商店前十强的行列。

Opera Mobile Store: Opera joins the App Store Game

Opera Software has announced the formal opening of the Opera Mobile Store. Well known for web browser technologies, Opera Mobile Store can be accessed directly from your phone at – mobilestore.opera.com. The storefront is powered by Appia which was formerly known as PocketGear. Opera Mobile Store comprises of both free as well as paid apps. About 200 countries can access the Opera Mobile Store on their mobile devices and purchase the apps of their choice.

The Opera Mobile Store will be featured in the Speed Dial link for Opera Mini and Opera Mobile web browsers.  The Opera Mobile Store offers apps for mobile phones based on four major platforms – Symbian, Android, BlackBerry and Java. Obviously, there’s support for large number of models from different mobile brands. The storefront experience is customized to each user’s phone, providing a tailored catalog based on the phone’s operating system, local language and currency.

Though the Opera Mobile Store is available in about 200 countries, the support for local currency will be added rapidly along with mobile operating billing and other billing options. At this moment, there are no specific dates shared but the changes will be reflected in the Opera Mobile Store.

Opera Software has also launched the Opera Publisher Portal for the developers to get their applications onto the Opera Mobile Store. In its pre-launch state, the Opera Mobile Store attracted more than 15 million users in February, from 200 countries; achieving more than 700,000 downloads per day. These metrics establish the Opera Mobile Store as a top 10 mobile application store around the world.
