Free app Little Book of Neon Play allows you to test whether your app name will fit into the space below the icon, has a list of dynamic fonts available on the platform and a colour selector.

“The first tool ‘name your app’ is something we use every time we create a new app, as we feel that how the name of the app looks under the icon is incredibly important. There’s nothing worse than seeing a name with dots in the middle of it.

“Secondly, the limitations of dynamic iPhone fonts is something that is important when designing apps, so this list of all the iPhone fonts you can use is really helpful. And finally, the colour selector tool is great for getting exactly the right colour, as it would look on an iPhone.”

Furthermore, the colour selector with its slick rainbow palette would prove useful to those doing desktop or web design, as RGB, HEX and HSV values are displayed as you surf. Not to mention anyone who has trouble figuring out the web code when redesigning their online profiles.

The app itself isn’t solely a design tool but rather an introduction to Neon Play itself.
