Facebook CEO’s Visit To China Boosted Membership

Facebook Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg’s trip to China in December appears to have inspired more people in that nation to join the social network.

Users in China now exceed 700,000, compared to about 300,000 before Zuckerberg visited the country, as the Shanghaist blog first pointed out. It’s not inaccurate to call it more than doubling the membership over a two month period, but that makes the growth rate faster than what’s going on in other parts of the world, when the raw number increase pretty much jibes with the pace in the U.S.

We don’t mean to minimize the significance of the increased membership in China at all. Clearly, Zuckerberg’s visit can be called a success based on this.（source:allfacebook）
